The 2012 Monteverro is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot. This is a gorgeous wines that excels on many fronts including extraction, intensity and richness. The bouquet opens to aromas of dark berry and spice, with lingering tones of tobacco, resin and blackberry jam. The 2012 vintage was a warm one (similar to 2011) on the Tuscan Coast. As a result, this edition is slightly less nuanced compared to cooler vintages like 2008 and 2010. This is a beautiful option if you choose to drink the wine now or hold it for later.
